Yay, I have completed my 100 Day Project which consisted of me making a 2 inch mixed media piece for 100 days . It has taken me 171 days, but I got there in the end. For the final phase I used fabric that I received in a swap from Marianne Tighe. She dyed it herself using the ice dye method and Procion Dyes. I only needed to use four 2x2inch squares to finish my 100 days, but it is really lovely I will use every last millimetre of it in future projects.
I decided to use my last 4 days to celebrate completing my 100 day project.
Here they are individually, in the order I did them in.
I am happy that I kept going and finished the 100 days, I know I wouldn’t have persevered if I hadn’t swapped fabric with other people, so I’d like to say thank you to Tamara Schultz Ruth McDonald Sue Justjems Deborah Kenward Jacquie Chalmers Cynthia Temple Anne Marie Desaulniers Helen Billings Hodgson and last but not least Marianne Tighe Thank you all, I can truthfully say I couldn’t have done it without you!
ps. if you click on the names above you can see the results of our swaps.
I also sent Marianne a piece of fabric
and here’s what she did with it
I have really enjoyed taking part in the 100 Day Project and might do it again in April 2020, need to think of a theme, and hopefully a way to involve other people because it really does add a bit of zest into what could otherwise be a bit of a slog.
An added bonus of the project was that I had something to enter into the annual art exhibition in my village. I framed some groups of my 2×2 inch pieces, I didn’t sell any, but at least I had something to show.
Brilliant – well done on completing the project 🙂
I have loved being a part of this 💯 day project with you and so hope you repeat. Sometimes it was challenging to post everyday but I loved being a part of such a great tribe. It’s also inspired me to do more handstitching and hopefully to get a blog as I have thoroughly enjoyed reading each chapter of your “swaps”. Thank you for all the support and encouragement ❤️
What discipline. I admire what you have done and I’m sure you leaned from the experience. They used to make us do things like this in college and I always learned something, but can’t make myself do this on my own. ☹️
Congrats!!’
congratulations…I think we think that it’s going to be a piece of cake, to do something daily, but life gets in the way or similar. I know I could make “parts of things” daily but for 100 days, possibly not…
