It’s that time of year again when there is mention of The 100 Day Project, this year it starts on 18th February which is not that far away. That would be a good name for a band “The Odd Bodkins”.
I came across these in my workshop, whilst looking for something else entirely.
No idea where they came from, I don’t recall buying them.
The all silver one is a “binding type bodkin” which can be used to feed elastic through casing, , or any flat ribbon.… Read the rest

A customer sent me this photo and asked if the jacket was suitable for customising.
Unlined, 100% cotton, a blank canvas, it was eminently suitable, although I have to admit that I am not overly keen on working with such light coloured garments, because I’m so likely to spill my tea/ get sewing machine oil on them.… Read the rest

to all my readers and subscribers, I really appreciate that you take time to read and comment on my blog, I know it’s a bit more of a chore than just reading a Facebook or Instagram post .
I’ve been dabbling in darning of late, I don’t know how I reached the (over) ripe old age of 57 without darning a sock considering I’ve been wearing mostly Crocs for about 10 years and they are the mortal enemy of sock heels.… Read the rest

I have seen mention of “dryer balls” in stitching groups I belong to, but did not know what they were until I came across some in a shop recently. This is what they are for, ostensibly ……
but any textile artist will see them as the perfect base for decorating.
