In my last post I said it would be a good idea to start using this blog as more of a diary, adding to it as things happen rather than leaving it for ages and forgetting what the heck happened three months ago.… Read the rest

philately will get you nowhere…
Back in May I joined Swapbot I can’t quite remember how I found out about it, but it was probably seeing it used as a hashtag on Instagram on posts by people sharing photos of their handmade postcards. I was attracted by the idea of swapping handmade postcards with people from all over the world, which would give me another excuse to muck about with paper and paint.… Read the rest
World Collage Day
Back in May I stumbled across a post on Instagram that said “Did you know May 11th is World Collage Day?” I have to admit I did not. My interest was piqued though, and it came at a time when I was keen to experiment with other art mediums (aka avoiding tidying my workshop). A collage artist in Germany called Bhupaligupte suggested that to celebrate it anyone could make and send some collage postcards by snail mail.… Read the rest

100 days of : chapter 9 – 100!
Yay, I have completed my 100 Day Project which consisted of me making a 2 inch mixed media piece for 100 days . It has taken me 171 days, but I got there in the end. I’m taking part in the 100 Day Project , it officially finished on 10th of July, but I am still going. I had a bit of a break for a couple of months, and I must admit it is very easy to get out of the habit of stitching everyday.
I exchanged fabric with 9 other members of a Facebook group I belong to, and we are using each others pieces in our 100 Day Projects.… Read the rest

Now the nights are drawing in and the leaves are beginning to turn my mind turns once more to collaboration.
It’s been more than 2 months since the last one finished, and I am only now getting round to blogging it. Summer got in the way, I guess.

100 days of : chapter 6
I’m taking part in the 100 Day Project , but I’m doing it in my own time, thank you very much, I never said it was 100 CONSECUTIVE days, did I? Just as well I didn’t because I took a good few days off during the most recent phase. I’ve had a touch of RSI (repetitive sewing injury) in my hand, and decided to give it a rest.… Read the rest
