I can’t quite remember when I first saw the work of Lisbeth Degn on Facebook , it might have been her knitting , or her jewellery but I definitely noticed her when she started sharing her 10 x 10 inch embroidered and collaged pieces she was making for The 100 Day Project. Her style was always recognisable, and I really enjoyed her daily posts. You can see them on her Facebook page, or her Instagram or in this video
I then saw this video of a mini-book she had made, and I was inspired to ask her if she would be interested in a collaboration with me, just for the fun of it. We decided we would both decorate an A3 sheet and fold it into a book, but not glue the pages together. We would then send each other the books we had made and we would both add stitching to each others books, finish the book off and send it back to each other.
Lisbeth has posted her book to me and it will arrive soon, and today I made my book and I will post it tomorrow. I used paper that I had previously printed and stencilled and glued it to the A3 piece of paper.
I then followed the clever directions in this video by Lydia Rink that Lisbeth had directed me to. Took me a few watches, but I got it in the end. My book is a bit rough around the edges, bit like myself.
I used watercolour paper as a background but realised this was a mistake when I tried to fold it up and the edges cracked, or delaminated as it’s called, in the trade. However I am confident that Lisbeth will take it in her stride, being the artist she is.
I also made a piece that will become the cover of the book.

Big excitement this morning, a parcel from Denmark, it can only be one thing! Of course it was the finished book from Lisbeth.
Use the arrows to move between the photos to see each of the pages and see what Lisbeth has added to them.
On the left is each page I created, and on the right is each page with Lisbeth’s additions.
I am delighted with my book, it is a lovely thing to handle and I spent ages looking through it at Lisbeths contributions. I really enjoyed this collaboration, and I hope Lisbeth did as well. I will do a blogpost about her book when it arrives back in Denmark.
She also included another book for me to work on and send back to her, here it is unfolded, I’m looking forward to getting stuck into it!
Wow, Fran. I love them, both the before and the embellished pages. Your sharings are always a delight.
Thank you Megan for reading it and got your encouragement 🙂
