Today is the the last week of my Made on Monday 2019 project, I have made 52 5×5 inch mixed media pieces, it’s taken me 56 weeks, but that’s not bad.
You can see them all here.
The final one is a bit different than the other 51, but it’s my party and I’ll doodle if I want to.Yesterday I dropped some acrylic inks on to a piece of wet watercolour paper and let them spread and dry. Last night I doodled on top of the colours with a Posca Paint Markers for 1 hour 56 minutes and 5 seconds , the duration of the podcast I was listening to. By which point it was bed ‘o’ clock and I hadn’t made my 5×5 incher, but I did have a bright coloured doodley thing. Today I added some cursory hand stitching, and Bob’s yer uncle.
I’m chuffed to have completed 52 weeks, actually for the 2nd time , I did it first in 2015, you can see those ones here . I’ll take a break from it for a wee while, but I’m sure I’ll return to it again, maybe in a different medium.
In my last blogpost I mentioned a scrap swap organised by Ann Woods . I was matched with a swap partner, Anne and we sent each other a parcel. Here’s what I sent Anne..
and here’s what Anne sent me..
She also included this cute little needlecase, thank Anne.
Anne’s parcel only arrived this morning, but I have already used some of her fabric in a scarf, photos to follow in my next blogpost.
Another swap I took part in was a handmade fabric postcard on the theme of “Geometric Shapes”. Here’s what I made, front and back..
Here’s what I received, made by Yvonne Wright..
Yvonne also included this beauty , which brought back memories to me as I actually bought some the same in Barcelona when I was Inter-railing round Europe 35 years ago, I posted them to family and friends, but they never arrived, they must have needed extra postage due to the flouncy flamenco frock!
I did my first jacket customisation of the year, the customer gave me a jacket and asked me to use bright colours and create a garden. Here’s the results..
I also made a scarf and managed to photograph it between blizzards.
That’s all for now, got a couple of postcards in transit, but I’ll share them next time.
Nice garden x
Cheers M’dear x
Love the jacket Fran.
Thank Gilleoin, I don’t make many nowadays, but I enjoyed making this one.
