Today I posted one of the sets of collaborative cube templates on to the next person. I had 2 weeks to add my contributions to them, here’s what I did.

Ruth Zanoni who made the brooch I used is one of my favourite textile artists. She is wonderfully expressive with her free machine embroidery, and has a lovely quirky style. Treat your eyes on her Instagram
Ruth was intergral to the success of a previous collaboration, she created the “girls” for this project

On the same day I posted the cubes a box arrived containing another collaboration I’m involved in. I have 2 weeks to contribute to these 6 spheres. I’ll let you see what I do to them when I’ve done it.

I also posted a heart I made from upcycled fabrics for a swap arranged by a Facebook group I belong to. I cut 2 hearts from a charity shop embroidered tablecloth and then tea dyed them. I used the zigzag stitch on my machine to join them at the edges, almost all of the way round, leaving just enough of a gap to stuff the heart with fabric scraps. I then handstitched round the edges and added some needle weaving to one side. I attached a thread at the top to hang it from and another at the bottom to dangle a bead and a tassle, and voila, finished.

Another of my handmade postcards has reached it’s destination, this time the theme was “sender’s choice”, I used some of my handpainted tissue paper and 2 photos cut from a book.

This is the one I received in return..

Monday again, week 50 out of 52 for my Made on Monday 5×5 inch mixed media pieces. Have to think what to do with them when I’ve done all 52. Try to sell them? Keep them in a cardboard box? Make a wall hanging ?

For this weeks one I used some fabric left over from another project, the trimmings from this flower that I cut out.

I used a piece paper that I had previously painted , then placed the fabric scraps around the edge.

I then did some handstitching and added some dots and circles with my Posca Pens.

That’s all for now , folks 🙂
