Monday makings (part 2)…

I am taking part in the Made on Monday project again, I did it once before in 2016, you can read all  about it here  It involves making a new piece of 5×5 inch art every week for a year, and posting it online on a Monday. You can read about the project, run by Kate Bridger here
The first time round I used fabric scraps from my ample scrap box, which never gets any less ample. This time I decided to expand my horizons and include other media such as paper, pen, paint, machine and hand stitching and found objects as well as textiles. Here are my efforts for weeks 13-24.

You can see weeks 1-12 here
I  definitely feel more comfortable with using materials other than textiles now, but it does mean I have amassed another load of stuff now that every scrap of paper has become treasure!
I framed some of my Made on Monday pieces to enter into the annual art exhibition in my village, no buyers but it’s the taking part that counts 🙂

  1. These are stunning and an absolute feast for the eyes! Love your mixed media take on stitching. I gave up long ago trying to control my fabric, paper, thread, and embellishment addictions. Honestly, there’s nothing like reaching into those storage bins and pulling out some treasures to work with. 🙂

  2. They all look great. I would be interested in having a go when my course with Hilary Beattie is less time intensive

  3. Such lovely pieces that have got my fingers itching to stitch

  4. Your work is very inspirational. I have just started stitching again after a 60+ year break and really love your work.
